My tablet's being silly. I’ll take it back as soon as I can. I can’t drive (permit only), so I have to wait for mom to take me. It’ll take a while but I'm trying to mature my art style while waiting.

Dropped the watch-back mentality. Until I organize a list of people I talk to/like, there's no icon list.

I had been making a game. It was a practice game but it turned into a long cute mess with witches.
I was making it with RPG Maker 2003 (RMK2003), which I received from someone, but I found out that the English version's pirated. My game's on hold-ish until there's a legal version of RMK2003.
If you sign the petition for RPG Maker 2003 in English, then that would be appreciated.…

I’m thinking of selling animated adoptable thingies gif things of OCs eventually (I don't have a good word for this). Person picks one of the animations I'd have available and then I'd make it pretty and make it their OC instead of a base. Also, I’m trying to work on all of my ideas.
I’m also trying to become more organized so I can answer messages/rps in a more timely manner.

It seems to me that I'm not the only one dropping in inactivity if you have to drop your icon list.

And really? RPG Maker 2003 was a pirated copy? Oh my. o_o

Hehe, good luck on the messaging~ I know I'm totally failing on my attempt at responding at a timely manner...

Oh! Most of the people on that list of icons were active, but I kinda want it to be people that I actually talk to sometimes, you know? But really, I might not have the list at all since I noticed yesterday that the new mention system would alert everyone on the list every time I posted it...

Yes, RPG Maker 2003 was never released in English, so any English version is illegal pretty much no matter what. They don’t actively seek out people that make games with pirated RPG Maker 2003 though. I just never knew. OTL

As long as you try. Just find your own pace. ouo That's something I'm bad at actually, but hey. XD

Oh!!! Really? I didn't know that the mention system would do that with journals...but I knew that about deviations!! And that makes sense...I totally get ya. D:

OOOHH;;; OH LORDIE. >___<;;; The problems with international products, I guess;;;

XDDD Truth, we'll work on it!!
Tenjilover Featured By Owner Dec 27, 2013
I didn't realize until I was mentioned for that thing I had mentioned you for.
I had to double check with one of the clubs in my last journal. Sure enough, it received a mention notice. >>;;
I guess I can still have it in a widget thing so no one would have to be alerted all the time.

Problems indeed. The whole story was enough to make me reconsider pirating a lot of things really.
With RPG Maker 2003, 2000 (?), and XP, they didn't bring it over to the U.S. because it was pirated so much that they didn't think that they'd be able to make a profit, so they dropped it. It showed me that sometimes pirating doesn't just mess up the income of the creators/distributors but it can also takes away from what we receive.

Yes, we'll be messaging masters eventually! <w<

Huh! But I don't recall getting any mentions for when you had the icon list? Maybe it's more about comments...?? I dunno, either way.

Ooooh...:( I see, yeah. I've been trying to cut back on pirating, as well. Been trying my best to purchase songs whenever I can instead of outright downloading them. Games and programs, too. Which is why I decided not to re-download Paint Tool SAI. My tablet's been malfunctioning on me anyways. It's not calibrated properly, and I don't know how to calibrate it to make it not fritz on me.

..."Eventually" is a very, very broad term. ;_;

I don't think mentions were a thing yet when I last posted the icon list. Apparently I posted the last icon list the day before mentions came out! Perfect timing. XD;;
I happened to take over one of the clubs posted in this journal though; it received a mention on this journal since it's not a gorup and just another user account. OTL

That's understandable-- I think even just paying for a couple of things makes a difference.
I still have SAI, eh heh. ;;  I've been looking for another art program that I actually like though.
My tablet's been acting dumb lately as well so I'm not exactly using SAI-- or any program really.

This is true, but at least it'll happen maybe. ouo

--OHHH. That...that really is perfect timing. XD And oohhhhh. owo;;; Well then~ at least nobody else noticed?

I'd love to find something that I could really use and REALLY LOVE! ;_; So far I've been sticking with :XD: It's free, and does the job when I need it.

Guess so! Yep, I'm glad I decided to randomly take out the list at that point. ouo;;

Ooo, is just something I can't work with, I neeed my opacity easily accessible and yadda yadda. I use it for certain conversions though, so I'm also fond of it for certain reasons. I'm thinking of trying GIMP again. I actually have Photoshop Elements 3.0, but it works terribly with my laptop. Extremely glitchy everything. It's terrible. I'd be using that if it wasn't for the glitching which is not easy to work around-- like, it distorts the canvas in a really bad way. I'm glad you're liking though! O:

I do hope the petition allows the company to make a legit RPGmaker2003 in English. O: I would love to make games without pirating too. The link in the petition isn't working for me??? IDK what is going on

That stinks that your tablet is being a silly billy. ;v; Well, at least you can practice in the meantime.

The animated adoptables sound adorable. I'm not an adoptable person, so I probs will not get one, but I bet many others would like them
Tenjilover Featured By Owner Nov 24, 2013
I hope so also. :C They said that if it actually does receive 1,000 signatures then they'll seriously consider it. It's been a while though, so hopefully it goes well. Maybe it doesn't work because I put it in bold. OTL…

Yep. I've been coloring with a mouse but I don't shade when I color with a mouse. It takes too long, so it's a bit eh.

Thank you. ouo And that's okies!
I guess I understand adoptables as things that someone makes and sells for someone to use the design or something.
But my own would be like:

1. Have a couple of base animations (just standing/blinking, dancing, walking, etc.)
2. Have the person pick one
3. Animate whichever character they'd like in that chosen animation

I can't think of a word for it besides adoptables though. OTL
Maybe just "custom animations", but that sounds really broad for what I'm thinking of offering. o_o;;
But now that I think about it, what I'm thinking of offering aren't adoptables at all.
But it sounds so right to say adoptables. IDK.
I'm just making a base animation and editing it a lot so it's the character that's being asked for.
Which by the way, I think that might be illegal.
I'm trying to see if that's legal.
It might just be if you're selling only the base. I'm not just selling the base though, so I don't know. Ahhh. >:U
I mean, people use the same base for adoptables, I don't know.
Ninjacatmuffin Featured By Owner Nov 25, 2013  Hobbyist General Artist
Ok, it works now. It probably was the bold. O: I made sure to sign it! I do hope the word can be spread too.

I understand. Using a mouse to draw is incredibly awkward compared to a tablet (if you're used to the latter). It's like...using a giant pencil to draw on a scrap of paper: inconvenient.

Ooooh, I think I get it. TBH, I thought you meant you were offering adoptable designs that blinked or moved when I saw "animated adoptables". So what you're saying is you'll animate a basic picture for the commissioner?

I'm not sure if that's legal myself. I suppose it'll depend on what's being asked for. Maybe if official characters don't make the cut, you can always do it for OCs and the like?
Tenjilover Featured By Owner Nov 25, 2013
Oh goody. Thank you. ;u; Hopefully it goes well. (I'll take the bold away in the journal also, whoops!)

Indeed. Then again, I guess it's allowing me to come up with different ways to get some color on the canvas.

I don't blame you. I shouldn't use the word "adoptable" in the first place. Saying "animated adoptable" would pretty much be exactly what you imagined.
I always thought that Gaia used "adoptable" to mean animated or non-animated little graphics of their avatar that people put in their signatures, but they probably didn't. U: Ah-- they called them pixels (derp). This wouldn't be pixel art though.
Yes, basic animations that sometimes come with complex movements, but pretty much. It's just editing over animation bases I've made with what someone wants.

Oh! Sorry I meant-- some places might consider it to be mass-producing (I can't work that fast) while using a base?
Sometimes that's not allowed or something, but that might just be with selling the base by itself or using the base another artist made without permission.
Each one will be different in appearance of course, and I would animate a lot of character specific things differently so I don't think it should be a problem but I just have to make sure.
As for official characters, I didn't mean to but I guess I deleted a sentence about that to make my reply not too long. o:
Yet what you said pretty much responds to what I typed before, which was, "I'd probably only do OCs, idk about non-OCs."
