Plum Aubergine for Nene

Copypaste: So my aunt asked me to draw a bunch of art to put on the walls of her daycare. She wanted them by the time she'd come down from Tennessee and from the time she asked, I was pretty much given less than a month while I was still really busy with other stuff. She also said she was "very picky" about what she wanted although she never said what it was she was looking for. So I just drew a bunch of my characters really fast. In the end, she only wanted African American characters-- or characters that could pass as African American. I didn't actually get them printed and she requested me to do everything in a different way though, so none of these actually ended up on her wall. Lol /copypaste

I drew this one pretty quickly.;; Plum's head's so lopsided in this. I don't like this picture. Bwuh. Anyway, this one also passed my aunt's criteria and she loved it. Still, I didn't print it, eh heh. I'm so excited to work on this game again! Eeee! I've only posted art of characters from this game in my scraps, but if you remember, I posted a journal about working on a game maybe... a few years ago? -checks the date- Back in 2013-- wow. Anyway, the journal was about how I had ceased work on the game pretty much immediately after I found out that my copy of RPG Maker was illegal so I was helping to get signatures to make RPGMK2003 legal (the petition didn't go through). I bought other versions of RPG Maker, but it was so much work to redo/resize all the charsets, facesets, chipsets, friggen every line of dialogue, every event, etc-- REDO EVERYTHING that I kinda had given up. I mean, I was going to transfer everything eventually but I was not looking forward to it. But nooow, RPG MAKER 2003 IS LEGAL! REJOICE! So I'll be buying the game eventually, as soon as I reach a point in time when I don't have to keep buying stuff (I'm really scared of spending too much and have been making a lot of school and convention purchases recently).

So the game's back on! I would have preferred to introduce the main characters and such first, but I knew my aunt was going to like Plum and Pit as opposed to an apathetic Pumpkin Pile and a sad Nomi. These were going on the walls of a daycare, for heck's sake. Pit and Plum are usually pretty chipper, so there's no deep meaning behind me drawing them smiling as opposed to drawing Pumpkin Pile smiling which is... probably sarcastic. Kids don't need that looking down at them. :U

Plum is a bit of a goody two shoes, following the laws of the land strictly and with a smile, or at least that's how he appears. Catch him at certain times and he'll just be down right irritated. He's known to say things which show he's angry but with a smile. He's still supportive though usually for the sake of his benefit. You can't help but wonder if he's hiding his own secrets even as he's judging others (mainly Pumpkin Pile) for things. He is very close to his sister, Pit. He's also very close to Pumpkin Pile even if it doesn't seem like it sometimes. They used to do pretty much everything together and even have the same goal of wanting to be official potion makers, but during the game, there's a small bit of distance since Plum does everything by the book/legally and is now spending a lot of time as an apprentice to Squash, Magise's resident potion maker, and Pumpkin Pile is making and selling illegal potions. Eventually, you do see that their bond is still as strong as ever, even with these new happenings.
